Fast forward to now, and only seven states let you add a driver's license or state ID to Apple Wallet on your iPhone and Apple Watch. It has been a slow rollout, but more states are coming or are at least showing interest.

As for the latter, it's only supported on the iPhone SE (1st generation), 6 S, and 6 S Plus, but it will hit other devices very soon.
