Tollygunge (Bengali: টালিগঞ্জ, romanized: Ṭaligonj; nicknamed 'Mini Mumbai' or 'Mini Bombay') is a locality of South Kolkata, in West Bengal, India. It is known for being the center of Indian Bengali-language cinema , with filming locations used for other regional Indian films .
The Tollygunge Club, Kolkata, is the only Country Club of its kind in India and ranked amongst the top 20 Clubs of the world. It is spread over a hundred acres with a Club House that is over 220 years old.
The Tollygunge Club (Bengali: টালিগঞ্জ ক্লাব), popularly called Tolly Club, is a country club in India, located in Tollygunge in south Kolkata. Sir William Cruikshank established the club as an equestrian sports facility in 1895 to "promote all manner of sports".

Aug 5, 2018 · Tollygunge, then called Russapugla, was a jungle with a few garden houses belonging to the Europeans who used it as a retreat. The name was said to be derived from a tree, under which a little-known local Sufi mystic Pir Pagla meditated. He had lived there around the late 17th century. The Club house is now over 220 years old. Prior to the locality being named Tollygunge it was known as Russapugla, a densely forested area abounding in Sundari, Byne and Garjan trees which even today make up the bulk of the Sunderbans, the estuary of the river Ganges.
