Waverley is a rural town in South Taranaki District, New Zealand, with a history of colonial stronghold and ironsand mining. It has a population of 840 and is part of the Manutahi-Waitotora statistical area.
Waverley is the first novel by Walter Scott, published anonymously in 1814. It tells the story of a young Englishman who joins the Jacobite rebellion in Scotland in 1745.
