    On August 1, 1982, Catholics in Ang Mo Kio welcomed their new church, dedicated to Christ the King, which refers to Jesus sitting at the “Right Hand of God in the Kingdom of Heaven”. The first Mass was celebrated on August 15, and the official blessing and opening of the church by Archbishop Yong took place on September 26.
