Li Lianjie (courtesy name Yangzhong; born 26 April 1963), [2] better known by his stage name Jet Li, is a Chinese-born Singaporean martial artist and actor. He is the recipient of multiple accolades, including a Golden Horse Award, a Hong Kong Film Critics Society Award, a Hong Kong Film Award, and a Shanghai Film Critics Award.
Jet Li born Li Lian Jie in Beijing, China. He started training at the Beijing wushu academy (wushu is China's national sport, largely a performance version of various martial art styles) at age eight. He won five gold medals in the Chinese championships, his first when he was only 11.
