Note that Visual Studio for Mac was available but is planned for retirement. Visual Studio for Mac is scheduled for retirement by August 31, 2024 in accordance with Microsoft’s Modern Lifecycle Policy.

This resolved the issue for me, but did not solve the problem. The issue I had, as obscure as it is, was I had Razer Synapse set up to record mouse and keyboard stats on Visual Studio.
