  3. The City of Union grew from a small settlement that may have existed as early as the late 1700’s. However by the early 1800’s, much of the land that now lies in Union was owned by the Fowler family, and Benjamin Piatt Fowler built his in what is now the northern area of the city c. 1817.

  6. Mt. Union Church. Marker Number: 1117. Location: 1 mi. N. of Jct. US 231 & KY 1332. Organized in 1864 under the name of Mulberry Hill General Baptist Church. In 1869 the original log building burned. The congregation rebuilt on present site, changed the name to Mt. Union.
