Their life goals have shifted, aspirations have made compromises and they don't hold the system or government accountable in a big way now.
Jun 4, 2021 · Before Sunrise has the best ending I've ever seen. First one is 11/10, second one is 10/10, but the last one imo is 6/10. The third is definately the weakest, but I would put Sunset over Sunrise. The dialogue and characterization felt sharper and I liked the real-time aspect of it.

Midnight feels like the crossroads in almost every relationship where you have to figure out if you love the person or the idea of the person you love.

The plots were very simple, yet really realistic, relatable and dramatic. The trilogy magnificiently captured the overwhelming force of time, which we rarely take notice of. The European setting was also romantic. Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy really did a good job of making the movies feel extremely realistic.
Feb 26, 2021 · Excellent movie, and I really loved the progression of conversations as they become more comfortable with each other and open up. It really mirrors real life, like it compresses the conversations you have over the course of a relationship into 2 hours.
If you get a chance, watch Tape, it's an overlooked film in Linklater's catalogue. Has only 3 characters, is set entirely inside an hotel room, takes place in real time and it's awesome. Watch before sunrise, then take a day and watch boyhood, then take another day and watch before midnight. . Don't binge em.
Jul 25, 2018 · I personally believe that "Before" movies should be watched "in order" to fully understand the characters and their story, and to experience the movie(s) fully (well, the first two; "Before Midnight" can go fuck itself), and I watched "Before Sunrise" first, but I'm curious did anyone else have a different experience, and I do think that both movies can still stand good on their own.
