Mark is a Solo Artist, Songwriter, and Producer, as well as Co-Founder / Original Lead Singer of Paul Revere & the Raiders from its inception through January 1975. His voice is heard on all of the Raiders' 16 Top 20 hits, including many which have earned Gold and Platinum Awards.
The original lead singer and co-founder of Paul Revere & the Raiders, Mark Lindsay was born in Oregon but raised in Idaho, where he began his career as the rockabilly singer in Freddy Chapman's Idaho Playboys. His bandmates were the guitar-playing brothers Dick and "Mooney" White.
Rock and roll was my passion, even though I was a rockabilly singer in a country band at the time. Through a complicated set of circumstances, the guys in Red’s band quit, and formed a new band with me as the singer. Revere, who was 20, became my best friend.

Aug 16, 2014 · As Mark fans, you'll most likely LOVE the lead singer's (Tyler Glenn) phrasing, breathiness, and the way he holds his notes. It's very reminis cent of Mark's, such that if I heard it on the radio without know ing what Ma rk was up to, I'd listen for a minute to see if, maybe....

HUNGRY - To recognize our food delivery heroes, Mark opened the show with an alternate version of the Raiders' 1966 hit, Hungry. See if you can hear the differences - there are a lot of them. Mark plays bari sax on both versions, but it's more evident on the alternate, with its double intro.
Oklahoma - Their record was the only co-production of Mark Lindsay and Terry Melcher, but this very talented band unfortunately had their career blow up just as they hit the big time. As Mark said on the show, their manager insulted the big record executive and the LP pressing was canceled.
