Re: Samantha Mumba - Gotta Tell You (Re-Release Comeback Single) Sorry but this first single just seems like a complete waste of space. The fact that someone can re-release a single they released previously is fine but to do it after they've only just had one album is a joke.

Mumba is just mumbling through the song in a baritone voice, which worked for R&B, not for cascade / ian van dahl / fragma style techno.
I own Samantha Mumba's 'The Collection' CD. Just reading the inlay CD booklet. It says "She also had a mind of her own by rejecting a track she didn't want on her album, which reached number 9 in Britain that Christmas".
Electic Platypus - Samantha is doing panto this Christmas in Dublin - "Robinson Crusoe" , in the Gaeity Theatre. She's playing Girl Friday. Undisco Me - Are you thinking of "I'm Right Here"? It got to number 5. Still not a flop though. I wonder why the second album never got released - didn't she say something about it on The Late Late Show?

I was having a mini-Mumba-thon today, listened to "Isn't It Strange" and "Believe In Me". I'm not sure why, but there was just something about Samantha that I really liked. Her music wasn't cutting edge or anything, but it was solid pop. It's been a while since I've heard any mumblings about her. Anyone have the latest on Miss Mumba?
Also aside from the fact that it doesn''''t sound anything like Timbaland, I think its very doubtful he would work with Samantha Mumba. He''''s very possibly the biggest producer working in the world today, and he''''s only ever going to work with the cream of the crop, or at least a new artist he''''s invested an interest in.
That's a totally different vocal take and everything; I was expecting it to be the same top line with a couple of new ad libs - great find! I consider myself quite well versed in Mumba's discography (and Y2K pop in general) and I've never even heard of an alternate version of 'Body II Body'...
