You all know about scratchblocks, it is a way to generate images of scratch scripts from text. Currently scratchblocks is being used on the forum and the wiki. It does have some Snap! support, but not a whole lot.
Feb 2, 2021 · Your solution, unique to SNAP! is a very good example using SNAP! Good for your older students, perhaps, but hopeless for my young coding students! Coming from a totally different angle (teaching), SNAP!, with Scratch and Python examples. I totally agree that SNAP! has huge advantages, but both platforms have the odd disadvantage. Snap!

A: Although Snap! was deeply inspired by Scratch, and the earlier version BYOB was an extension to the Scratch 1.4 source code, it is not our goal to be exactly like Scratch. Some Scratch features are super useful in building a large category of projects; cloud variables are an example.

This tutorial assumes you have general knowledge of how the scratchblocks extension works, as well as knowledge on how to change the color of a block to a category color. Symbols are identified by a @ [symbol name].
Jan 27, 2021 · Snap! is now an independent program, not sharing code with Scratch, but we have obviously adapted their vocabulary of block, script, stage, sprite, and so on, and most of their actual blocks (although reimplemented). Our screen layout is close to that of Scratch 1.4, which we prefer to the later Scratch layouts.

You can, however, use Snapinator to convert scratch projects to snap. The project will most likely not work as intended, and will most definitely run slower. You may also run into many more issues.
