Jan 8, 2005 · The SMC-Ms are strictly manual lenses. Meaning, you set the aperture and focus. The on the A lenses when the aperture is set to the "A" position the cameras will set the correct aperture for the shutter speed you select. On cameras such as a ZX-M I have, with the shutter dial set to the "A" position, the camera sets both shutter and aperture.
Jun 28, 2006 · Pentax are pretty good at 95%. The Epson RD-1 would provide the brightest and clearist viewfinder if you like rangefinder cameras. For compact digicams, the Ricoh GX8, or Ricoh GR-digital with optional shoe mounted RF viewfinder will match the RD-1 in that respect.
Jul 7, 2010 · The stupid thing was more apt to scrape up a slide than load it from the tray, and after it gouged a couple of my better slides I exchanged it for a carousel and swore off the brand. I probably will get a Hanimar lens one of these days. It would help if someone compiled a list of the good ones and dogs, but it's probably an impossible task.
Nov 23, 2002 · Leitz lenses have such a great reputation for good bokeh that the Japanese have drven up prices on lenses once considered "dogs", the Summar and Summarit being two. Back when a new Summicron was selling for $150.00 camera stores had row upon row of used Summars for $15.00, but you could bargain them down more, or maybe get one free if you bought a used IIIc or IIIf body.
