Tianhe Stadium (Chinese: 天河体育场), officially Tianhe Sports Centre Stadium (Chinese: 天河体育中心体育场), is a multi-purpose stadium in Tianhe District, Guangzhou, Guangdong, China. It is currently used for football matches.
Tianhe Stadium got built by the the city of Guangzhou and province of Guangdong to serve as the principal venue of the 6th National Games. Construction of the stadium began in 1984 and it opened three years later in 1987. Tianhe Stadium was the host of the final of the first women’s World Cup in 1991.
The sports centre is primarily comprised of the Tianhe Stadium, gymnasium, baseball field, exercise centre, bowling alley, gateball court, tennis school, natatorium, football field, large open area, and parking areas.
