A weird Noir movie. If you liked this, you should watch Inherent Vice. Here's another very cool paranoid conspiracy mystery film for anyone who loved Under The Silver Lake : The 2021 film Broadcast Signal Intrusion. It's best to go in blind and ignore the critics on this one.

Under Owens Lake (nearby the coordinates) lies a supposed buried silver cache from a shipwrecked steamboat the 'Molly Stevens'. Maybe a stretch but Millicent Sevence sinking to the bottom of the silver lake reservoir seems like maybe more than a strange coincedence.

It’s definitely the same mini genre as Big Lebowski and Inherent Vice. Watched yesterday with my gf and then spent a couple of hours on r/underthesilverlake reading up on theories behind the movie. So far my favourite one is the main character is a dog. Also, I recommend to take a closer look at the poster above :P.
Jan 27, 2020 · I believe "Under the Silver Lake" refers not to the literal bottom of a lake, but the geographical area just outside of Hollywood. Namely, the suburbs of Silver Lake and Echo Park, where the film mostly takes place and where google tells me a lot of wannabe actors/writers/directors live when they're trying to break out. Interestingly, Under the Silver Lake joins a series of noir-influenced films that I've been noticing lately, about middle class millennial men trying to find a missing woman as a way to fantasize and cope with their own insecurities and mediocrities that eat them inside between the daily routine.
