Vlasenica je naseljeno mjesto i sjedište istoimene općine u Bosni i Hercegovini . Historija. Vlasenica je dobila ime po travi "Vlasulji" koja raste u ovom kraju. Kao naselje javlja se sredinom 15. vijeka, dolaskom Osmanlija u Bosnu i zauzimanjem tadašnjeg prostora pod imenom "Birač", oko 1463. godine.
