Marina Barrage is a dam built across the 350-metre wide Marina Channel to keep out seawater, creating the 15th reservoir in downtown Singapore. Water from Local Catchment is one of the Four National Taps, with the other three being imported water, NEWater and desalinated water.
Visitors are advised to call the Marina Barrage Information Counter at 6514 5959 to check if the Water Playground is open before making their way down. Open from 9am to 6pm daily (closed between 12pm to 1pm daily and on Tuesdays). Guided tours are available at every hour, except from 12pm to 1pm.
