Nov 9, 2009 · The sound "meter" has disappeared I have a Dell laptop which has sound controls along the front of the computer. The volume icon on the task bar is still there but I used to get a pop up volume meter whenever I adjusted the sound (it showed the level of sound and whether it was turned on or off).

Sep 25, 2015 · My battery meter won't show up on my taskbar in Windows 10. When I try to change the setting, the option isn't available. I'm not working under a public computer, this is a personal laptop so I shouldn't have to contact an administrator to change this setting.

Nov 18, 2015 · The little box, which I am thinking is a volume meter, appears to be connected to the audio volume. It always shows 100%, as does the sound (the little icon that looks like a speaker on the system tray). If I try to adjust the sound to a lower level, it puts itself back at 100%.

In my Windows 10 Pro, a volume meter overlay keeps on popping up whenever it wants and appearing with a jittery slider. This happens even though I don't have any active app running. When this happens, it too would activate my camera, wi-fi, and blue tooth buttons on my laptop.

Oct 24, 2013 · I have the same issue in both Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. When I first start the computer, it comes up with the sound meter in the upper left. After log in, most Navigation functions don't work, including charms, etc. After doing a warm restart, Windows 8, 8.1, and the hardware all run fine, no sound meter or navigation problems.
