Joel Steinger. Steinger was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1949. In the 1970's Steinger moved with his family to Florida and in later life became acquainted with the mobster Meyer Lansky after Steinger's brother redecorated Lansky's house. Eventually, Steinger married the daughter of a Miami banker who was an alleged associate of Lansky.
