Every time a sword swipes a battling warrior, the screen fills up with a lake's worth of spurting blood, to the extent that you really start hoping that one of the film's character's suffers a paper cut, just to see what happens. With 300 and all its inaccuracies but well-paced (albeit it being primarily in slow motion) action sequences can 300: Rise of an Empire live up to it? First off, the film did right by its change of setting.
