Despite this "A Child Lost Forever: The Jerry Sherwood Story" still has a certain amount of power and of course is interesting and unsettling. In truth much of that comes from the performance of Dana Ivey as Lois Jurgen rather than Beverly D'Angelo as Jerry as Ivey brings to life the evilness of her character especially when we see her fly off the handle at the small child.

Summaries. In the 1970's, a teenager staying in an unwed mothers' institution is forced to give up her baby. Eighteen years later, she discovers that her child is dead, and that he was possibly murdered by his religiously -strict adoptive mom.
The movie in no way, shape or form even begins to do the true-life story justice. I just finished reading the book "Death in White Bear Lake" and then watched the movie. The movie is very poorly put together, and far too many important details missing. If I hadn't read the book first, I'm not sure I would've gotten much out of the movie.
