This room contains the archives from each of the four schools which amalgamated in 1974 to form LCHS; Lincoln School, Lincoln Christ’s Hospital School for Girls, Myle Cross Secondary School for Girls and St Giles Secondary Boys’ School. It was officially opened on 13th December 2004 by Professor Garton himself.

LCHS is a fully comprehensive school with nearly 1400 students on roll including 340 in the Sixth Form. Located on the Northern outskirts near Lincoln’s beautiful cathedral, the school works in partnership with fifteen primary schools, ranging from our nearest neighbours in uphill Lincoln and our local estates, to villages as far north as Lea and Marton.
At that time, four schools combined to form LCHS: Lincoln (Grammar) School, Lincoln Christ’s Hospital Girls’ High School, St Giles Secondary Boys’ School, and Myle Cross Secondary Girls’ School. Lincoln Grammar School can arguably be traced back to 1090 when a school was opened in the new cathedral close.
