  6. Shoucheng Zhang was born on February 15, 1963 in Shanghai, China to Hongfan Zhang and Manfan Ding. At the age of 15, he started attending Fudan University, and in 1980, he was selected to study abroad at the Free University of Berlin, where he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Physics in 1983.
