This is the first retrospective of the whole spectrum of Rodchenko’s work, and it has been done with the enthusiastic cooperation of Varvara, Rodchenko’s photographer/designer daughter, who contributes a memoir of her father to the catalogue, and Alexander Larionov, her son, also a designer, who now works in the Institute of Industrial Design in Moscow.

This major exhibition explores the work and relationship of two of the Russian avant-garde's most important artists – Aleksandr Rodchenko (1891–1956) and Liubov Popova (1889–1924). The exhibition starts in 1917, the year of the October Revolution, and shows how the two artists shaped the future of Russian art.
Dec 6, 2023 · Constructivism, Part I. Aleksandr Rodchenko’s Spatial Construction no. 12 is one of a set of three-dimensional geometric forms generated by a simple iterative process. It began as a sheet of plywood cut into an ellipse. Rodchenko then made a second cut following the edge of the first to create a narrow oval ring.
