Regarded as one of the leading and most distinguished musicians of his generation, Penderecki died in Krakow, Poland, on March 29, 2020, at the age of 86.

The score notes that the original tape could be borrowed from the Polish Radio Experimental studio, but the piece was published in 1965 and the studio has been closed for 20 years. I've contacted some Polish radio archives with no luck.

Jun 19, 2024 · On March 29 the influential Polish composer and conductor Krzysztof Penderecki died aged 86. He was a principal guest conductor of the China Philharmonic Orchestra from 1998, and a concert will be held in his memory at the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing on Nov 22.
