Dec 2, 2022 · GoogleMaps calls the area ‘Ximending Night Market’, but it’s not really a night market (these are Taipei’s actual night markets). Most businesses in Ximen open around 11 a.m. or noon and close around 10 pm. Most are closed during Lunar New Year.

One of the highlights in Taiwan are the night markets that come to life when the sun sets. It is close to Elephant Mountain and other attractions in the area.
Dec 29, 2023 · The closest thing to a permanent night market in Ximending is on Wuchang street section 2 lane 50 (武昌街2段50巷), running for two blocks between Emei street and Wuchang street (aka Movie Theater Street), passing tattoo street in the middle (see my Ximending guide for more info on these special streets).
Can’t miss this lively night market! I would recommend coming from 630 to 7pm onwards to see the market in full swing. Ximending sells your typical street food carts, along with many restaurants and small shops selling souvenirs.
Ximenting is the mecca for youth culture. From tatton street to Wannian Plaza accessory shops, cosplay to street dancing, Ximenting offers a venue for youths to express themselves. Pop stars often come here for promotional events on weekends.
