I can only think of a few times in the Bible where men had direct confrontations with angels and knew they were angels, and these were all at very pivotal and watershed moments in the history of the human race.

Hebrews 13:12 says, “Some of you have entertained” what? “angels unaware.” Now how in the world could that happen unless an angel can take on at least what looks like the appearance of humanity.
