The Merseyside Maritime Museum is a museum based in the city of Liverpool, Merseyside, England. It is part of National Museums Liverpool and an Anchor Point of ERIH, The European Route of Industrial Heritage. It opened for a trial season in 1980 before fully opening in 1984 and expanding in 1986.
Finally had the chance to visit the Merseyside Maritime Museum in the Albert Dock redevelopment. Interesting, free to visit museum with displays on Cruise ships including Titanic and the Star Line, Marine Shipping and the most interesting display area on smuggling and border security.
Over several floors (lifts are available) you can explore links to slavery, ocean liners of note, including the Titanic, the importance of the docks to Liverpool in the past and present. Great museum with an excellent welcoming team. The only negative was the number of interactive not working. Read more.
