Biography. Birth Date: July 25, 1955. Nationality: Somalia. From Mogadishu, Somalia, daughter of a diplomat, one of five children, Iman and her family fled the war in her home country and lived in Egypt and Kenya, where she was scouted in the mid 70's by photographer Peter Beard and moved to the US to start her legendary modeling career.
