  3. Besides Andromeda’s presumed watery end does not seem very suited to live studio work where colour balance issues could be involved if it sticks close to the original. At 90 minutes it would seem ideal to package on a DVD with remaining fragments and Episode 5 just restored to the BBC and perhaps with The Andromeda Breakthrough for a second disk.

  4. If A For Andromeda gets enough viewers next Monday, then BBC 4 are looking at doing an "Out Of The Unknown", complete with original titles and music. This is something I've personally longed for throughout the last thirty years.

  5. We have proven this, look 2,350 times this thread has been read. People are obviously interrested in this material. The BBC really should consider such a release sometime. The "Out of the Archive Collections" which could contain episodes from such series as A for Andromeda, Out of the Unknown, and other unreleased early BBC TV material.

  6. The most annoying part of watching those last 15 minutes is that you feel that you've come in just after the 'best bit' of the drama. In what remains, regardless of the reputation of the show, the way the ending is handled is a bit flat. It builds very well, but when we reach the caves, Andromeda vanishes off screen in a rather feeble way.

  7. A for Andromeda made such an impact on me at the age of 17. As science fiction it is still relevant today. In the last six months I have been trying to find someone in the TV Industry who might do a remake and launch another blonde star. Lion TV in Scotland seemed a little interested. BBC Scotland could not understand the question.
