McElroy, and another director Jamie Blanks worked on different versions of Resident Evil film adaptation before Paul W.S. Anderson's version was made. The rumors about Kevin Williamson or Andrew Kevin Walker writing their Resident Evil scripts are not true.

McElroy draft Unconfirmed draft: There was a report about a draft circling where Umbrella cured all diseases, but then created the T-Virus and held the world hostage for the cure.
Mar 2, 2020 · Anyway, the original Alan B. McElroy script was dated May 29, 1997. It is 114 pages (which would result in about a 1 hour, 54 minute movie. Roughly). It is an adaptation of the original game. Definitely horror. Much of the rumored plots over the years, including some that had no author attributed to it, actually come from this draft.

May 25, 2023 · RE9, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 (if that ever comes out), Alan Wake 2 and many others appear to be implementing dark and mysterious big baddies with cult-themes around the woods and nature. Curious to see how this trend plays out.
