In 1942, the lonely German Johann travels through the arid roads in the country of the Northeast of Brazil in his truck selling Aspirin in small villages, using advertisement movies to promote the medicine.
Northeast Brazil, 1942. Johann, a German who has escaped the war, meets Ranulpho, a Brazilian fleeing the drought that haunts the region. Driving from village to village, they show a film to the inhabitants—who have never before experienced cinema—to sell aspirin, the brand-new miracle medicine.
