  1. Re: Who is the strongest player Wilt played against? Post #6 » by Statlanta » Tue Aug 16, 2016 11:26 pm. I'm guessing Bill Russell isn't considered a super strong player back in the day and more of an IQ guy. Aaron Gordon, Devin Booker, Tyrese Halliburton, Trae Young, Anthony Edwards and Luka Doncic all made the Conference Finals.

  5. Jul 26, 2024 · Slater Martin is an odd pick maybe but I'm impressed by how the Lakers' defense holds up without Mikan and it should be noted that while my initial instinct was to go with Lovellette or Mikkelsen here, it's clear the defense in the play-offs holds up as well in the regular season and arguably performs even better with the latter 2 having reduced minutes, while Martin plays 45 MPG.

  7. Aug 1, 2024 · Bob Cousy - Not the best playoffs but pretty easily the best PG in the league and solid enough scoring volume/efficiency combo along with assists to get him MVP. Offensive player of the year. 1. Bob Pettit. 2. Bob Cousy. 3. Neil Johnston. Defensive player of the year.

  8. Boston was led by efficient Bill Sharman (20/4/5 .438 5.7fta) and spectacular Bob Cousy (19/7/9 .350 7.8fta). They also got inside play from Ed Macauley who scored but didn’t rebound and Jack Nichols. Cousy finished 3rd in MVP voting and although they went one and out, Cousy led the league in shooting efficiency for the playoffs.

  9. Sep 24, 2020 · The Hawks had their typical great frontline led by Bob Pettit (28/20/3 @ .446 and 10.6fta/game; but also starring Cliff Hagan (who made the running hookshot that Heinsohn was also known for work better) at 22/9/5 and outside shooting center Clyde Lovellette at 22/10/3.

  10. Sep 4, 2024 · Russell, battling Wilt Chamberlain for rebounds, came away with a personal victory. He pulled down 31, to 27 for Chamberlain. And Bailey Howell had a big hand in the victory, scoring 12 of his 22 points in the last quarter, when the Celtics turned back a strong challenge” (The Milwaukee Journal, Apr. 18, 1968).
