  4. Nov 27, 2008 · Grab a pencil. Hold the pencil between the thumb and finger of one hand, and move the pencil with the other hand. Hold it in the middle. When you move the pencil, the eraser moves a lot. Now hold the pencil much closer to the eraser. When you move the pencil with your other hand, the eraser moves much less.

I agree with you that the Glidecam Gold is a major step up from the Provid-level rigs from Tiffen. The arm is much beefier and smoother, and the sled comes equipped with a lot more internal wiring, making it a much more versitile rig.

Set the monitor position pretty much all the way forward - leave around 1/4" or so to let the monitor swivel down before it hits the weights. See picture above. Always use the Pilot with the battery and monitor at these positions.

P+S technik FREESTYLE rig – Invented by steadicam operator Phillip Bordelais. This rig moves the opposing camera in a direct 1:1 movement of the other. One camera goes left the other goes right.
