If the RN had kept him in after it went down the formal route, their hands were really tied. He was a young boy barely out of school trying to become a man.

I had an interview for an Insurance Surveyor job, and the interview consisted of them sticking me in a room on my own, and giving me a very unusual and difficult claim to resolve. I had to hand write a detailed proposal on how the claim should be dealt with, who should be involved at each stage etc etc.
