I can remember coming to stay with Bel, Cess Mike and Pam many times during 50's 60's. If anyone has any memories of Bill Holmes or Bel Preston I would love to hear from them.

  8. Sep 23, 2014 · The future of St Michael’s church on Pitt Street was less in doubt – it was comprehensively damaged in the May blitz of 1941 and finally demolished in 1946. Standing in a square between Kent Street, Upper Pitt Street, Cornwallis Street and Granville Street, it was one of the most elegant churches in Liverpool (and one of the last remaining Georgian churches in the city centre).

Used to drink in Scarlett's bar on Hackin's Hey - downstairs, but you could come up another set and end up in the Crooked Billet - an entirely different pub altogether and then go out into Exchange Street East.

  10. With Upper Potter street and Marwood Street recently cleared, the giant 22 storey Corinth Tower overlooks that part of the city and what a view it must have been for its new residents. A tipper truck being used to take away the slum clearance debris makes it way up Aughton Street, construction on Seacombe Tower, together with its sisters Ellison and Edinburgh would be underway shortly.
