"Shame of you" is not correct either. "What a shame" is idiomatic, but it is impersonal and means "What a pity": it does not imply "Shame on you."

Besides, it is commonly used with other prepositions, such "with (or without) shame", "put to shame", "shame on you" etc. There is an overlap between the senses of modesty and humiliation; there are many idiomatic phrases ...

Why the expression “Have you no shame?” is correct and authentic? Should it be “ Do you have no shame?” though I understand that the tone is much softer this way.
Feb 10, 2007 · What a shame = what a pity = que lástima. But if I said, "I feel shame," it would NOT mean the same thing as "I feel pity." I know, it's not logical, but that's English. I do not agree that it is always sarcastic, but I do agree that today it is more commonly used by older people.
Sep 12, 2015 · To just indicate a real pitying disappointment about that or anything else in a phrase with no further details, I'd use "What a shame!", but in a whole sentence I would in fact use "It's such a shame that.." noun: Shame=disgrace. adjective: ashamed=feeling embarrassed and guilty for having done something unworthy. Two different words and ideas.

It's never used and, as Jinti have already said, there are other expressions used to say "pena/vergüenza ajena". Read the first part of this article. It might help.
May 13, 2021 · Personal opinion: "Shame", and "honour" (you can add "duty", if you wish), are concepts traditionally used to demand unthinking conformity and compliance: They're no longer widely accepted as reasons to behave in a determined manner.
Apr 14, 2014 · Hi Everybody, Does the "It would be a shame" in the below sentence mean "embarrassing"? It would be a shame if you lost it. OR it just means as : "it is too bad/ it is regrettable". Thank you for your time.

Now, I wonder if there is any difference - in meaning or at least in intensity - between these two widespread expressions: for instance, is "it's a pity" somehow softer of "it's a shame"?
