Aug 15, 2015 · r155, I usually can't stand Walter Brennan, but I recently saw the 1943 Fritz Lang movie "Hangmen Also Die!" where he is quite effective -- and cast completely against type -- as a calm, intellectual history professor. I couldn't believe it was the same actor I'd seen ruin so many other movies.
