  1. It's not possible to backup or restore your chat history on linked devices such as WhatsApp on Web, WhatsApp on Mac, or WhatsApp on Windows. To back up or restore your chats, you’ll need to use your phone.

  9. Tap More options > More > Export chat. Tap Without media or Include media. An email will be created with your chat history attached as a .zip file. Note: If you choose Include media, the most recent media sent will be added as attachments to be sent from your sharesheet.

  10. You can only restore your chats before you’ve activated WhatsApp on your new Android device. If you want to restore your old chats, you'll need to first uninstall WhatsApp on your new device. You can't merge new chats from your new phone and old chats from your old phone.
