Linux has far more customizability, but it requires a bit of knowledge on coding, and how operating systems work in the first place. Windows is way more user friendly, has a lot more support for videogames (though that gap is slowly dwindling), and has only 1 "distro" that is managed by a single company.

The prices Microsoft charges for a windows license if you don’t get it with your PC are INSANE when Linux is a viable desktop OS. Also, if you want to give Linux another shot, you could try a different distro.

Linux isn't that much more CPU-friendly, but its WAY more memory-friendly. Linux is a degree faster. Linux uses less RAM than Windows, then switching to Linux will allow you to run larger models. Almost essential to switch if you have just 8GB or maybe 16GB RAM.

Oct 29, 2023 · I love Linux, run it on my laptop, but let's not represent facts dishonestly. Running games on Linux you're almost always taking a hit on fps. I'm willing to do that to get a console like experience but rarely is it better then Windows.Eventually we might see Linux pull ahead but we aren't there.

If you have the packages tlp and tlp-rdw installed, you'll save quite a lot of battery. ThinkPads have additional packages you can install that further increase battery life.
