Honestly, it’s hard to get any car made in Japan anymore. Mazda is a big exception. And with the current lineup Mazda has a bright future. Too bad there are so many SUVs offered. We need a Mazda 6, at least one more sports car and definitely a Mazda 3 2-door. Oh and don’t forget a bunch of manual offerings. My next vehicle will be a Mazda.
Apr 18, 2023 · No Mazda3’s are made in the states; only CX50’s are right now. And any trim (GX, GS, and GT) could be made in Mexico or Japan. The last manual mazda3 we got was a GT made in Japan. But we got a GT turbo made in Mexico last week, and a Gx made in Japan the week before.
If you look in a Mazda parts catalog, it will specify “For vehicles VIN with JMB and 3MZ”. Parts are specific to where the vehicle was built. (I noticed the parts for the Japan models are a little more expensive). I know with the 3rd gen Mazda3, the brakes are different between the Japan and Mexico built models.
Dec 2, 2021 · From then on 1982 Honda Accord, 1983 VW Scirocco, 1994 VW Jetta, 1996 Mazda B3000 truck, 2005 Honda Pilot and now a 2021 Mazda CX5. The Accord my ex wife kept when we got divorced. The Scirocco had for 10 years, the Jetta for 11 years, the Mazda for 24 years, the Pilot still have it, now 18 years old and the CX5 has so far with 16,000 miles.
Mar 13, 2022 · These are the two ports Mazda delivers to on the east coast. Mine did arrive on a Japanese flagged ship, but I think that was just coincidence. From common shipping routes, it seems like Mazdas could often be shipped on vessels with the name "Leader" or "Ace" in the name (two different shipping lines that frequent the same ports).

Sep 27, 2023 · I wish Mazda would make a Sport Turbo CX-30 trim that's Made in Japan. Better brakes, much better tires, no sun roof, red cloth seats, and black headliner. Or I wish they'd make a hybrid CX-30 in Japan. It's their second best selling model yet still no hybrid :(
May 2, 2019 · For my 16. I have found parts for both locations, but it just seams like a huge oversight on Mazda’s part to make such a common part like break pads VIN specific. It looks like the Japan built ones are more expensive, which is annoying. Also I can’t figure out if the rotors matter.
Mar 12, 2020 · A lot of people claim there is no difference between the Japan or Mexico built Mazda 3’s my sister in law recently bought the same 2016 3 sport that I have, only hers was built in Japan. It handles differently, the doors sound more solid when shut, and feel heavier.
Feb 8, 2021 · My last 3 Mazda 3's sedans have been Japan built never have had a problem. I have talked to my dealership mechanic friend and the current gen 2019+ there is no difference. Earlier gen 2015-2017 there were issues but quality control has improved.
