  1. Mar 29, 2013 · The Space Jockey is there as a form of world-building, while also establishing some foreshadowing. By including an unknown alien there, it shows that the in-universe situation is larger than the characters or audience is aware, that there is something more that's happened there.

  2. May 27, 2017 · In the derelict ship, the crew of the Nostromo find the Space Jockey. Apparently, he was infected by a Facehugger, so an Alien chest-buster had made his way out of his torso and bio suit. What ha...

  3. May 28, 2017 · Though given the bio-mechanical nature of their technology and how it seems to connect with the Jockey's suit, "seat" may be an oversimplification. "Control interface" may be closer to the mark. Share

  4. Apr 9, 2021 · The name also has a precedent in a 1947 Robert Heinlein story, titled, of course, Space Jockey, which is about “a rocket pilot who pilots a commercial passenger spacecraft”. About 1.6 billion B.C they are almost wiped out by an Alien outbreak. Only a few of the Space Jockeys survive. The comic also includes a "Space Jockey Alien", who is huge.
