Sir Michael Elias Balcon (19 May 1896 – 17 October 1977) was an English film producer known for his leadership of Ealing Studios in West London from 1938 to 1955. Under his direction, the studio became one of the most important British film studios of the day.
Michael Balcon (1896-1977) was a prominent figure in the British film industry, working with Alfred Hitchcock, Ealing Studios, and MGM-British. He was knighted in 1948 and was the grandfather of actors Daniel Day-Lewis and Tamasin Day-Lewis.
