Ute von Münchow-Pohl, geboren in Bremen, studierte Kunst an der Kunstakademie Münster und arbeitete anschließend von 1987 bis 1990 für die Berliner Produktionsfirma Hahn-Film GmbH. Dort war sie unter anderem für die Animation bei der TV-Serie "Benjamin Blümchen" und dem Kinofilm "Werner – Beinhart" verantwortlich.
