Klaus Maeck (born in Hamburg 28 July 1954) is a German film producer. He is perhaps best remembered for his West German cyberpunk cult classic Decoder. His films have often played at the Berlin Film Festival.
Klaus Maeck (* 28. Juli 1954 in Hamburg) ist ein deutscher Filmproduzent, Musikverleger und Autor . Maeck führte Ende der 1970er Jahre bis 1983 gemeinsam mit anderen Gesellschaftern den ersten Punk-Plattenladen, Rip Off, in seiner Geburtsstadt Hamburg bis zu dessen Insolvenz.
Klaus Maeck, along with Muscha, Schäfer and Trimpop, used Burroughs’ sound theories and gleefully put them on screen. A cyberpunk world where revolutionaries and wild boys used sound to disturb the status quo, to fight the good fight and destroy the police state.
Klaus Maeck was born on 28 July 1954. He is a producer and director, known for The Edge of Heaven (2007), Soul Kitchen (2009) and B-Movie: Lust & Sound in West-Berlin 1979-1989 (2015).
