Adolph Green (December 2, 1914 – October 23, 2002) was an American lyricist and playwright who, with long-time collaborator Betty Comden, penned the screenplays and songs for musicals on Broadway and in Hollywood.
Comden and Green was a 60-year songwriting partnership, comprising Betty Comden (1917–2006) and Adolph Green (1914–2002). They first worked together in 1941 at the Village Gate in New York City, as writers and performers in a nightclub act called The Revuers.
Betty Comden and Adolph Green were an American musical-comedy team who wrote scripts—and often the lyrics—for many Broadway shows and Hollywood film musicals. They were paired together longer than any other writing team in the history of Broadway.
