May 11, 2022 · Antonio Tibaldi was the apprentice of Francesco Noletti, called Il Maltese (1611–1654) from whom he acquired his complex iconographic repertoire. The artist has only recently been rediscovered by the scholarly community, owing to the discovery of a painting inscribed ‘Il Tibaldi.
Antonio is half Italian, half Australian. He has worked as writer/director in the film industries of Europe, Australiaand North America since 1992, when he co-wrote (with Gill Dennis) and directed ON MY OWN (Sundance 1993), nominated for 6 AFI awards (Australian Oscar Equivalent) and 1 Genie award (Canada's Oscar equivalent).
