Gordon previously founded Largo Entertainment on August 21, 1989 as a 50/50 joint venture between him and JVC; he left Largo in January 1994 and forged a production deal with Universal Pictures although he first used the name "Lawrence Gordon Productions" in 1983 before forming Largo.
