In 2019, The Walt Disney Company obtained the co-production and distribution rights to the Fantastic Four after acquiring 21st Century Fox. Marvel Studios, now owned by Disney, announced plans to release a Fantastic Four film set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe scheduled to be released in 2025.
