Roshan was born on 14 July 1917 in Gujranwala, Punjab, British India [now in Punjab, Pakistan]. He was a composer and actor, known for Taj Mahal (1963), Raising Helen (2004) and Vallah Kya Baat Hai (1962). He was married to Ira Roshan. He died on 16 November 1967 in Bombay, Maharashtra, India.

Music Director. Born: Jul 14, 1917. Death: Nov 16, 1967. Roshanlal Nagrath, known only as Roshan, was born in Gujranwala in modern-day Pakistan into a family of businessmen. From a young age, he developed a liking for Urdu literature and poetry.
Roshan composed the music for Neki Aur Badi (1949), unfortunately the film was a flop. Inspite of the result Kidar offered Roshan his next venture Baawre Nain (1950). Roshan started freshly with the new assignment, this time he broke through with hits like 'Khayalon Mein Kisike..', 'Sun Bairi Balam..' and others.
