Arnold Pressburger (27 August 1885 – 17 February 1951) was an Austrian Jewish [1] film producer who produced more than 70 films between 1913 and 1951. Pressburger was born in Pressburg, Austria-Hungary (now Bratislava, Slovakia) and died in Hamburg, Germany from a stroke.
Seit 1931 arbeitete Pressburger auch für die Ufa, für die er u. a. Anatole Litvaks Filmlustspiel Nie wieder Liebe (1931, mit Harry Liedtke und Lilian Harvey) produzierte. In dieser Zeit arbeitete er erstmals auch mit Gregor Rabinowitsch zusammen.

The Shanghai Gesture is a 1941 American film noir directed by Josef von Sternberg and starring Gene Tierney, Walter Huston, Victor Mature, and Ona Munson. It is based on a Broadway play of the same name by John Colton, which was adapted for the screen by Sternberg and produced by Arnold Pressburger for United Artists.

Arnold Pressburger, a Slavic immigrant about the same age as Alexander Korda, spent many years as a producer in Europe before he arrived in Hollywood in 1941. In fact, at the Sascha Film studio in Vienna after World War I, Pressburger served as a production executive when Alexander Korda made films there as a Hungarian refugee.
